Lee suggested I call customer service about billing and tell them a sob story, or try and upgrade my plan to cover my overages, or threaten to cancel so they can lower my bill.
I got my mom's info (she's the primary account holder) and let Jackie call in cause A) she's VERY persuasive and B) girls get more slack when asking for favors than guys do. Don't tell me it's not true, that's just the way it is and you know it. She calls up and finds out that the overages came from having no Nights and Weekends. We have long distance, mobile to mobile, and roaming (Vegas counts as local for CA residents cause people jet between this town very often). I would do all my calling on the nights cause all plans these days have Nights and Weekends, but apparently we do not. Either our plan was too old that it was a new concept at the time, or they REALLY got screwed.
She's talking to customer service and the dude's like we can't really do anything about it and Jackie's like "come on, I know you can do something for me. I always pay my bills on time and everything". The guy says he's getting the manager and she's on hold for ages but the guy finally comes back and throws her a deal. He can cut the overages in half if we sign for another year of the same plan, so we take it. We could upgrade but it costs more than just letting the contract expire and getting a better plan, and I still gotta pay for the wacky overages. We had 3000mins of rollover on our previous contract so I don't think they would need a better plan for $15 more a month. We take the deal which means out of the $80 for our usual bill, the total bill is $410ish.So I will be paying my mom back $330 instead of $650 for a total of $730.
What can I say, my lady is a shotcaller.
